Catherine would make the top and it would later be made into a quilt by others. The color was amazing-brightest white and reddest red.  Aunt Belle said it laid in a drawer for years and that she had washed it in a washing machine several times.  Amazingly, the red didn&#8217;t run at all!  I&#8217;ve wondered if this is the &#8220;Turkey Red&#8221; color I&#8217;ve heard of.
