Bjørn Andreas Johansønn Løkken’s Book
With his permission, I’ll be adding the first two chapters of a book written by our cousin Bjørn Andreas Johansønn Løkken, from Trondheim in Norway. It will take awhile. I need to translate it, but it’s a fascinating read so far! He’s traced our line back to England in the late 1500s. The time of William Shakespeare. He tells the story of how our ancestors made the move to Norway, got involved in mining and more.
Salem, Massachusetts wasn’t the first place to have witch trials. A much larger version happened in Norway. One ancestor “the witch from Rendalen” Ragnild Nordset, came very close to getting burned on the fire in 1671.
Use the menu at left to navigate the pages. “Bjørn Book” had a submenu, but it didn’t seem to work on an iPad. I put Capter One directly below in the menu.
(There’s only 1 right now. More will be added.)
Can’t wait to read the entire chapter?
Here’s the first chapter in Norwegian.

There’s more about our common ancestor “Esten Jonson” here.
He was Esten Jonson Volden – 1st burial in Berg Cemetery.
Let’s see if this works. I’ve been trying out new themes, and the comments section keeps changing. It won’t even let me comment and I own the site! I think I have the right settings now, so let’s see if it works.
