Here’s a little movie featuring the Dakota Serenaders.
1952-53 movie of the Dakota Serenaders, with soundtrack of them playing at the Arkota Ballroom in Sioux Falls on January 30, 1963. Also assorted photos from 1930s to 1950s.
Fireman’s Dance is the first part of the movie.
St. Patrick’s Dance is the second part. You can see the green hats on all of the women when it changes to the St. Patrick’s Dance.
The film was taken by Herman Brende.
REEL-TO-REEL RECORDINGS
Peter Erickson made many Reel-to-Reel tape recordings of the Dakota Serenaders.
