Here’s an interactive Google Map with several locations that he lived. Click on the pins to see information about what happened at that location. I’ve tried to be as specific as I can with most of the pins. They should show an exact location, but for the most part it’s just fun with GoggleMaps.

  2. Here’s an interesting lead for Rufus Langdon (Elder) and his son Gideon from early New York records.

    It looks like the entire family received poor relief at one time or another. I don’t know if anyone remembers, but I found early records that names both Gideon and Rufus Elder’s wives as Mary. Could there be info in these that actually names the father of Rufus Elder?

    The problem is, it’s only an index. It was written by Douglas Shepard, who I’ve had contact with in the past. I’ll get in touch again and try to see if anything comes of this. Here’s the list with Langdons.
