Here are a few examples of images I’ve altered in photoshop.
Most of these were done under a tight deadline with photos that were less than desirable. The seafood counter shows a better photo that just needed a small tweek.
Mariano’s South Loop Direct Mail
Here’s an example of how the photoshopped image at right was used.
Mariano’s Wheaton grand openingWe needed a photo of the store for grand opening promotional materials, including direct mailers, in-store flyers and other related materials.
Problem: The store was still under construction.
Solution: Remove construction debris and “coming soon” banner, add plantings, make the unfinished work look completed and make the sky more appealing for a smaller, cropped photo.

Problem: When cropped, the customer’s yellow tie and blue shirt reflecting in the glass counter distracted from the experience.
Solution: Remove his reflection entirely so that fresh seafood and service are the main focus.
Mariano’s Lake Zurich grand openingWe needed a photo of the store for grand opening promotional materials, including direct mailers, in-store flyers and other related materials.
Problem: The store photo needed a few minor adjustments.
Solution: Change “coming soon” banner to “now open” and make the sky simply blue so that a smaller and cropped photo would look good when printed.

Problem: The photos available were less than desirable, and from someone’s cell phone. The store was nowhere near completion, had terrible lighting due to the time of day and was filled with construction equipment.
Solution: Rebuild the entire building as a fake. I altered the perspective, and did my best to make it look like the intended store.

Problem: Good photo, but the Stop sign, “coming soon” banner and a few distracting window reflections needed to be removed.
Solution: I removed them.
